About me
My name is Jamie, and I’m a cycling coach originally from Canada, now living and working in Finland. I take a structured and evidence-based approach to coaching, focusing on helping athletes reach their goals in a sustainable and practical way. I have a bachelor’s degree in Sports Coaching and am nearing the completion of my master’s in Sports Science. My professional development includes UCI Level One certification and WADA’s ADEL High-Performance Coaches Education Program.
I’ve worked with Finland’s national junior men’s team for two seasons and the U23 team for one season, helping riders gain international racing experience and refine their skills. Nowadays, I work with a range of athletes, from young competitors earning national and international accolades to adults taking on challenging cycling events like the Trans Continental Race, Haute Route Pyrenees, Ride Across Britain, Migration Gravel Race and UCI World Grand Fondo and Gravel Series races.
My coaching focuses on building autonomy, fostering mastery, creating community, and maintaining flexibility and accuracy in training plans.
When I’m not coaching, I enjoy spending time outdoors with my family, cycling, orienteering, cross-country skiing and exploring Finland’s national parks/wilderness.
